On residue gas, we cut our GC run from 6.6 to 4.3 minutes by adding a timed backflush right after iC4/nC4 and switching to H2 carrier; we kept C3/C4 resolution intact and @lab_ops could validate in the same shift. The key was to “shrink the run, not the resolution” — retune the valve timing and requalify against a GPA 2261 standard; if H2 isn’t allowed on your site, a 15 m column with a steeper ramp still got us about 4.9 minutes.

Pulled our residue gas GC down to 3.9 min by going isothermal at 45°C and pressure-programming the carrier — high inlet for about 50 s, then a step down right before C3 so C3/C4 stays clean. If you follow @claire_b102 on H2, make it a formal MOC and add a short deactivated guard ahead of the column so the backflush valve doesn’t gum up by week’s end.
