How are you documenting meter factor updates that hit revenue accruals mid-month so they stand up to SOX and external audit? We had a 0.28% factor change on a custody transfer meter on the 15th, and I’m torn between rebooking the first-half estimate vs. carrying it in the true-up — looking for defensible, consistent approaches.
Keep first-half estimate; file dated ‘0.28% on 15th’ memo with approver signoff and calc — OK for SOX?
Quick example: we book a ‘split JE’ — days 1–14 at the old factor, 15–EOM at the new — so the month’s cleanly sliced, then attach the meter-change notice, proving report, and a materiality worksheet showing why we rebooked (or didn’t) per threshold. That’s stood up to SOX/external as long as the workflow is time-stamped and the JE references the change ticket. @Maya, do you have a %/$ trigger for rebook vs true-up?
